Biography

Prof. Dr. İstemihan Tengiz graduated from Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 1997. He completed his cardiology residency in 2002 at the Department of Cardiology, Ege University Faculty of Medicine.

He received the title of Associate Professor in 2006 and Professor in 2013. Between 2011 and 2016 he worked at İzmir University Faculty of Medicine, serving as Dean of the faculty from 2015 to 2016.

Hypertension has been at the centre of his career. From 2011 to 2014 he served on the board of the World Hypertension League, headquartered in the United States, and chaired the organising committee of the World Hypertension Congress held in Istanbul in 2013.

He currently practises as a professor of cardiology at Medicana International İzmir Hospital and continues to serve as president of the Turkish Society for the Fight Against Hypertension.
